designING a restaurant

Designing a restaurant is a long and considered process and part of the process is a 3D model thats allows us to see and feel our design pitch.

Documentation Design

Documentation can be large and comprehensive for large projects like restaurants. Or it can be quick and simple for a small cafe or fashion shop. The depth of the documentation is really up to the client and their aims and how much detail they require.

Documentation includes lighting specifications, hydraulic specifications, electrical specifications, finishes specification and equipment specification. We work closely with engineers (mechanical, fire, hydraulic and electrical), shopping centres, local authorities for town planning, foot path trading and health approval.

THE PROCESS

  • Branding & Direction - All designs starts with the branding and it’s positioning, hence we take great care to position the brand as this sets the design direction. The design direction is clarified with mood boards, marketing data and proposed finishes.

  • Plan it Right, Get it Right. True! The most important stage in the design process is the planning stage and we work the plan over and over to get it right!

  • The Creative - where we bring the 3D model to life, finding the brand essence in the design that is going to communicate the brand values.

  • The Documentation - where we add the details that makes the difference to the building process and the final out come.

  • Project management - where we hold the strings, manage the process, answer questions, work with the shopfitter, onsite contractors and the shopping centres, then sign the project off.

Retail Design - from sporting good shops, jewellery shops, convenience stores and super markets, they all require a knowledge of merchandising design and specific retail design needs.

Fashion Design - for the boutique store to the high end fashion design store in Chadstone or Oxford Street London - we can do it all.

Cafe Design - for your local cafe shop with their own individual identity to your chain shop with a national expansion program.

Restaurant Design - requires specialised knowledge and experience gained over many years to know the pitfalls and to deliver a great out come. Restaurant design from the small 100 sqm to 700 sqm - all require detail planning, set out the kitchens and equipment, seating area, bar area, function area, bathrooms, out door seating, etc. Restaurants design also means working with services engineers for the mechanical exhaust canopies, fire services, hydraulic services for the grease interceptor.

Hospitality Design - leisure venues like cinemas complexes, function centre venues and wineries, all designed to meet their functional needs and with a style to complete their brand and pitch.

Interior Design - for residential and corporate office.
